Boundless by train

Almost borderless, as it were: If you travel in the international Lake Constance region, it is very likely that you will cross a national border – sometimes even several times a day. You could hardly wish for more international togetherness. To make crossing national borders comfortable and easy, you can take advantage of the changeless train services between the individual countries.

  • Bludenz (AT) – Lindau via Bregenz
    In just over 60 minutes, you can take the S1 from the Alpine town of Bludenz to Lindau on the Swabian Sea. All important local transport hubs such as Bregenz, Dornbirn and Feldkirch are located along the route.
  • Constance – Kreuzlingen
    In almost exactly 2 minutes you can cross the border between Germany and Switzerland in the direction of Kreuzlingen. With the S14 in the direction of Weinfelden, you can easily make a trip from Constance to Kreuzlingen.
  • Bregenz – Rorschach
    The journey from Bregenz to the important local transport hub of Lustenau takes just 11 minutes. From the St. Margrethen border station, the journey continues to St. Gallen and Zurich International Airport.
  • Lindau – Romanshorn
    The S7 connects three countries on Lake Constance. On weekends, it runs directly from Lindau to Romanshorn every two hours.

On the way in the city bus

The city buses in the towns around Lake Constance take you quickly and easily through the entire city area. Many bus stops are served regularly; due to the low entrance of the buses, wheelchairs and prams can be transported without any problems. No matter whether you are travelling alone or with the whole family: You can buy the right ticket directly on the bus, at the ticket machines at the stops or even in some cases directly at the tourist information offices.
