The “friedens rĂ€ume” at Villa Lindenhof are more than a museum – the interactive forum invites visitors to engage with peace issues by seeing, hearing and feeling. The intercultural and interreligious place for exchange and encounter wants to give space to peace so that it can be individually experienced, learned and learned. Here it is not about “peace in showcases”, but about individual impulses.
Become active
Find declarations of love in the “reading room” that give you courage, or linger in the “between room” so that “laughter gets stuck in your throat”. In the “hör raum” you can listen to musical examples about peace and violence and the “garten raum” invites you to linger and have “peace talks”. The “entscheidungs raum” offers numerous seating options for visitors. Choose between a king’s throne or a stool, and just by the way you sit, consider whether it could lead to a friend or an enemy. This museum teaches the value of peace, large and small, and how to deal with violence and aggression.
In addition, numerous events take place in the “friedensrĂ€ume”, which on the one hand point out states of discord and want to change them, and on the other hand want to give desire, strength and visions for a more just and peaceful world.
The goal of the museum, whose sponsor is the international Catholic peace movement Pax christi of the Augsburg diocesan association, is to make room for peace and to open up spaces for decision-making.
Tip: After your visit to the museum, we recommend a walk through the 19th century Lindenhof Park and Villa, and if you still have two hours to spare, take the Lindau Peace Trail from the museum to the island.
